Three Rivers Greenway. Schuylkill River park system. I don't care where in the country it's located. I love all of these river systems.

As I climb out into the river, onto the rocks, the water's edge beckons to me, drawing my imagination back in time. Back to the days when Europeans were discovering these natural wonders for the first time. Back to the Revolutionary War battles fought on the banks. Back the the Civil War's crossing points.

I love it.

dc sleeps alone tonight

where i am

This is the third time I've seen something about a job in the District in the past month.

I'm not sure what it means. I don't understand. Please lead me, God.

here we go

So much done in so little time.

I have to re-affirm this: I love roadtrips. Leave at 11pm. Drive for 8 hours. Take a test. Walk the city for another 10 hours. Drive home. The exhaustion is a welcome feeling. It affirms that I'll sleep well tonight.

Scantron. 90 questions, 90 minutes. Let the proctor know when you're finished. Seemed like a normal test.

Until I finished in 30 minutes. No one else was close to done. So I went through and did the exam a second time to make sure my answers were correct. 20 minutes later, I handed the exam to the proctor, still, the first to finish. The LT's congratulations helped ease a bit of the hesitance I felt towards the test. 5-7 weeks and we'll see what happens.

Dear God, show me what to do. where to go.

Not only a trip to D.C. to take the State Police exam, but also a time to see the sights of the city.

There's so many things that I saw this past weekend that I'm glad I had never taken time to see. World War Two Memorial. Korean War Memorial. "The Wall." Tomb of the Unknowns. It's the gravity of the sights that I would never have appreciated years ago.

say the first thing that comes into your head

This week has been insane. INSANE.

The back and forth from one end of the spectrum to the other is what's doing it. This weekend was stressful, and it was all Target's fault. When you're upset at your employer/job before and after work, when it starts to carry over into your everyday life, then it should be a sign that change is in order. Sunday was a reprieve, and it was much needed. Then it all began again when I went to work Monday night. It's been one of those things I've been praying about for a while, and after a few things happened that night, I walked into my HR manager's office and told her I needed a break. Officially, it's called a Leave-Of-Absence. Unofficially, it's called no-more Target. And it goes into effect in two weeks.

So to say I was happy the next day was an understatement. To make it even better, a group of us went and saw Jim Gaffigan.

Wednesday, I fell asleep on the couch for a three hour nap.

Tonight=procrastinanting on English homework. It's not that bad; Wieland isn't as good as I was told it was going to be.

Major roadtrip this weekend. I can't wait.

Excited and terrified. I have no clue what to do.

Oct 4.

I am extremely happy.

frustrated

I don't think I could have been more frustrated than I was this weekend.

I really wish I could see where this is supposed to end, when this trial is supposed to stop.

constantine

carry me,
Your love is wider than my need could ever be
come to me,
and i will walk along Your shore line
feel Your crashing waves sing in time
with the pounding of my heart

come down, pour out on me

river deep,
could i know You as well as You know me?
Constantine, will we travel faster, farther than these
legs could ever trustworthy be?

come down, pour out on me

midnight show

There is something peaceful about a train's whistle, something about the way a streetlight illuminates the pavement that brings peace to me.

I ran tonight (but I guess it was really this morning). Farther than I have in a long time. To the stadium and back. It felt great.

I love my mute button for life. To talk with God for a good 20 minutes is something that I don't get to do often.

You name me;
Who am I
that I should company with Something so divine?

hello, my name is oscar

I've gotten about 4 hours of sleep a night per night for the past week.

I'm exhausted. And I think my bed might have a tractor beam in it.
